Knights of Ember isn't just the name of our guild, but something we should all focus on achieving, being knights and honorable. We have a relaxed, and in most cases a very chill guild. However, we do have some structures that are optional but are very strict. Things such as rankings, starting picks for events, etc. The most important and largest thing we're strict about that ISN'T optional are our rules, and the way we uphold them as well as ourselves.

  • Holding Yourself Accountable: Your actions have consequences, and as such it is your responsibility, not the guilds to fix or change them. This rule is very broad but covers everything with holding yourself responsible/accountable. If you get scammed that is your fault for falling for them (if they're in the guild let us know so we can strike them down with a ban hammer and with enough proof attempt to get them banned from AoC) It isn't our duty to restore you because of that. Listening to people to include guild mates and having that back fire is also your fault. If you want the 100% factual content, look it up before believing what everyone says. We're all human and make mistakes.

  • Representing the Guild: You are apart of the guild, even during normal game hours when you're not in an event with us. You still have the guild listed under your account, and as such your actions reflect our guild. This means do NOT do anything that could have a negative connotation with the guild. PKing is fine, just do not do /spit, talk shit, or act in a way that will give KoE a bad name.

  • Be Nice: This may seem like a simple thing, but do not be that guy everyone hates when you hop in the chat. Don't be annoying, rude, or Q.Q about every little thing. No one has fun with those people, and if you're one of them... chances are it'll benefit you in more ways than you might think to change your attitude.

  • Chain of Command: Our ranking structure is very organized, and strict. As such, it is up to you to follow chain of command. If you're ranked in the PvE side of the guild, do not go to the PvP general with issues, do not go directly to the PvE General either. Go to the person above you, if they cannot help you then make your way up until someone can. Most of us are either veterans, or active duty military so we can take this pretty seriously. If you have a question that may lead to questioning the chain of command do it in a DM first, then bring it up to an individual higher or his peers. Do NOT question them publicly.

  • Listening to higher ranks: Anyone higher rank than you has received that rank because they earned it, not based on time, or skill. They met ALL of the qualifications to become that rank, and as such they do hold a place over you. If they tell you to do something that relates to your role then do it without questions. This doesn't mean if they say go die so they can take your stuff then do it. Be logical, if they say hey, you're a Gatherer Specialist we need Iron. It means that when you're out gathering to focus on Iron. If they also tell you to stop talking during a specific point in a conversation to do so as they probably have something important to tell you and the group.

  • Listening to Event Planners: Event planners are those people that have created the event you're participating in. They are the reason you're doing that event, and it doesn't matter what rank they are, the event is theirs and they have the floor. You can give recommendations, but do not go over their heads. They are the highest rank during that event. If you have a problem with how they run it, make a ticket, fill out a post on the forums and explain what they did wrong, as well as try to inform them in a constructive way. Events are how people get promoted, and it's the only time they may have to show the guild what they can do, and how they structure things. So it doesn't matter if they are a Specialist and you're a General, you do what they say during that event if it relates to that event.

  • Owner has the final say, 4 Star right under that: Ranks mean everything, however there are matters that could be ranked higher than even a General that they may not know about. This being said, if a 4 Star says something chances are it will be the final say, however if the Owner says something countering that, it goes above all else. 4 Star and the Owner try to discuss everything, however there will be times that they are unable to and as such communication could be flawed. Keep this in mind if things randomly change according to plan that a 4 Star or Owner could have altered something. Events may get canceled, rules could get changed or added, it is up to the 4S and the Owner to determine these things per basis.

  • Arguments: Arguments are bound to happen, people are bound to get upset by one another. However it is NOT your place to be public with these arguments. If you're having an argument it is up to the individuals in the argument to take it into a private setting and hash it out themselves. For the most part we're all adults, and if you're unable to act as one then you may not be the best fit for the guild in general. Do not go public with any arguments no matter how small or big. If things get heated enough that you need to report them, then open up a ticket on the discord or submit them on the forums providing UNEDITED proof. We have software to determine that, and if you're found editing proof you will get banned.

  • Structure: The structure of the forums, and discord are set up like that for a reason. This means to follow that, if you're in voice chat, ensure you're in the right voice chat for what you're doing, post in the right sections of the forum and discord at all times.

  • Up to Date on Rules: Rules are bound to change, get altered, removed, added, etc. It is up to you, the individual to ensure that you're up to date on the rules and check in on them from time to time. Not following the rules could lead to you being banned from the guild, unable to progress in rankings, deranked, and more.
